Right away after Joan was sent to fight, the French won the battle at Orleans because Joan of Arc was leading the French military. She was automatically thought of higher and was more respected by anyone who had heard of her. When Joan was captured by the French and burned at the stake for heresy, she stood by what she believed in and did not give up. Even when no one came to help Joan of Arc in prison she never gave up her beliefs.
